Quiet and Clean Garden Sanctuary in the Heart of the East Bay

I stayed at Jonthan's place for 2 months when I started a position at Berkeley National Lab. It was very well equiped with most everything I needed for that time, including in kitchen, sundries, in bathroom. The location was convenient to Berkeley, the BART system, the freeways, and urban amenities of Oakland.

In the middle of stay a storm impacted the region causing the gas line to shut off and also temporarily locking me out of the unit. Jonathan was super responsive, helping me get back in the unit in the middle of the night and working me through restoring the gas service and the heating it provides to the unit.

We stayed in Jonathan's unit for almost two weeks, and were very satisfied. Despite being in a dense urban neighborhood, it was very quiet and peaceful. The kitchen is small but remarkably well-equipped, though it does not have a dishwasher. The windows look out onto neighboring buildings, so for privacy we mosty kept the shades drawn. Linens (sheets, towels) were high-quality and abundant, and the bed was very comfortable.

The Temescal neighborhood is "in transition". Along with a lively and charming strip of shops, bars and restaurants a short walk from the unit, we encountered a mentally ill person living in his car, several instances of police activity and one night we were awakened by very nearby gunfire.

Jonathan was a great host adn very responsive. The place is clean and comfortable. It's very easy to get to UC Berkeley as well as to great grocery stores and restaurants. I recommend it!

We had a great experience renting with Jonathan. This spotless space is nicely appointed with modern decor (big tv, washer/dryer, flawless wifi and pantry stocked with herbs, ramen & coffee/tea were a bonus)

Very comfortable bed and fold-out sofa. Excellent proximity to Rockridge and Temescal (and the freeway).

I liked how the house was set back from the street and had a parking spot.

We really appreciated that he added a bike lock to the house and was always available/quick to respond to any concerns. Loved his sweet dog too!

We really enjoyed our stay at this great rental in Oakland. The property is on the side of a larger house-very private with great natural light and a large patio and garden in front. It also has its own parking on the property-a real perk. We loved the large comfortable sofa in the living room and the big television. There is a great work space also in the living room and very good interset service. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas stove and oven, large microwave and a good supply of dishes, glasses, silverware and pots and pans. The upstairs has a spacious master bedroom and a second room that can be used as a sitting rooom or second bedroom. The owner takes great care of the property and is very responsive to tenant needs!
