This is our private custom home that we designed and built. A lot of love and attention has been given to feeling cozy and inspired while living here. Our kids have other scholastic opportunities that we wish to support and this requires us to temporarily relocate. I have a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) as well as a M.ARCH (Masters in Architecture). My partner has undergraduate degrees in Political Science, Geography, History, Education, a Masters in Music and is part way through a PhD in music. Our children are all extremely creative. We have a music room in our house as well as an art room. The garden has also been a labour of love and has peach, apple, pear apple and plum trees. We have a winter garden as well with mostly Kale and a summer garden with asparagus, sugar peas, lettuce. We have a kitchen garden with rosemary, sage, thyme etc... Lavender, tulips, poppies and ranunculus also line the garden paths. There is an outdoor fire pit, as well as separate building that has a pool, small workout space and an infrared sauna in it (all with views of the ocean). We love our house and we hope to find someone who will love it just as much. Below our house is a resort called Poet's Cove. At Poet's Cove they have a full gym, outdoor swimming pool, pub/ restaurant as well as a dock (and customs crossing to the US). We are within walking distance of beautiful beaches, a small waterfall, a park with a large lake (that you can swim at in the summer). A little further away (5 minutes by car) is an Island Mountain with a look out (National Park), Marine Park as well as a gorgeous Ocean park with sweeping wild grass meadows.... There are only 200 permanent residents on South Pender Island and our family represents 7% of the population. There is one parking spot for you. There is a third parking spot, however, we do have another "cottage" on the 2 acres where another person does live (and helps to caretake the land). They are quiet, keep to themselves but do love to garden on the far side of the property. The house has a generator (and generator panel) should the power go out (as it can in the Gulf Islands). The cooktop is propane and we have a propane fireplace on top of the wood fireplace so there is lots of ways to stay warm and cook during a power outage as well. All of our furniture will remain in the house.
