A spacious, light-filled, furnished contemporary two-bedroom apartment in London on a quiet, tree-lined residential street in Islington (Zone 2), available for academic rental in central London from 10th August 2026. Minimum stay: 4 months. The rent is £3,100/month plus bills (council tax, service charge, internet, electricity, gas, water). This is a very comfortable place to live and work for visiting scholars, professors, and other academic professionals. The flat has a dedicated foldable working desk, strong wifi, and the kind of calm you need to actually get writing done. The apartment spans 950 sq. ft.(89 square meters) and features large (double-glazed) windows that fill every room with natural light. Two balconies give you outdoor space — rare for central London. The larger terrace has a hammock, offering a relaxing spot. The open-plan kitchen and living room are fitted with a dishwasher, washing machine, water filter, and air purifier (throughout the apartment). The induction Bosch hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, iRobot, BBQ grill, kettle & toaster. You won't need to buy anything — bedding, towels, and kitchenware are all provided. Just bring your laptop and your books. The primary bedroom is an en suite with a double bed (a high-end Simba hybrid mattress), a wardrobe, a mid-century-inspired chest of drawers, bookshelves, and a separate shower with a toilet. The second bedroom is currently set up as a spacious single but can easily be converted to a double. It has a Stokke crib which can expand and be suitable for up to 9-10-year-old kids. A full bathroom with a bathtub and a shower serves the rest of the flat. The apartment is furnished throughout in a distinctive, new but mid-century-inspired modern style — comfortable, characterful, and not cluttered. The flat is in a modern, well-insulated new build — you'll hear birds on the balcony in the morning, not traffic. If you're spending most of your time writing, with occasional trips to campus, a seminar, or an archive session, this is the kind of place where you can be productive from day one without needing to set anything up. The location is hard to beat if you're affiliated with a central London institution. Holloway Road tube station is a 10–12-minute walk — two stops to King's Cross on the Piccadilly Line, five to Covent Garden, and a direct route to Heathrow Airport. The Northern Line at Archway is also reachable on foot (up to 15 minutes) or by a few bus stops. UCL, SOAS, LSE, Birkbeck, University of the Arts, London Metropolitan University, and the British Library are all an easy commute. The neighbourhood itself is safe and a well-connected pocket of North London — close to everything but set back from the noise. Local shops, cafés, and green spaces are within walking distance, and the area is well served by buses and cycle routes. It has smaller local parks and playgrounds, but is also a stone's throw away from Hamstead Park and Highgate Wood. The apartment is fully equipped, from towels and bed sheets to a family-friendly rental package that includes a Stokke high stool, toys, books, a crib, etc. It has several 'Outstanding' Ofsted-ranked nurseries and schools in the neighbourhood. As an academic and a mother, this home is designed for focused work, but also a very comfortable living in a busy city like London. I understand what a visiting researcher actually needs from a temporary home. Happy to answer any questions, so please feel free to reach out.

Comments: I would generally prefer 6+ months tenants, but I'm open to consider shorter terms
