Within five minutes walk of this apartment (in different directions), you'll find where Bowie, Dietrich, and Isherwood all lived during their Berlin years (and, possibly more helpfully today, great Zone 1 public transport connections). Layout includes: separate bedroom with comfortable double bed and storage, dedicated desk workspace by large window, bright living room with open kitchen, large wooden balcony facing a glorious plant and flower-filled courtyard. There is a large modern bathroom with shower and washing machine. Original wooden floors, doors, fittings create a warm, characterful atmosphere. • Rent price (500 eur weekly / 20% discount for 3 months+ stays = 1600 eur monthly) includes: all utilities, high-speed WiFi internet suitable for video teaching and research, fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, bed linens, pillows, towels, Iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner, cleaning equipment, hairdryer, household essentials, secure lockable indoor bicycle storage and a safe, dry cellar for additional storage. City registration (Anmeldung) / your name on letterbox possible. This 19th century, residential, welcoming and diverse neighbourhood offers cafés, bakeries, restaurants, independent bookshops, vintage stores, contemporary shops, and a weekly farmers’ market. Public transport is excellent: U7 Kleistpark and S1 Julius-Leber-Brücke 5 mins walk away. Bus routes M48, M85, 104, 106, 187 and 204 all nearby. Zone 1 BvG public transport (direct S Bahn connection to Potsdam uni). The Berlin School of Economics and Law is a 10 minutes walk. Freie Universität, Technische Universität and Humboldt-Universität are 20–25 minutes away by bike/public transport. Berlin trains provide fast connections to other major university cities - Potsdam, Leipzig, Dessau, Weimar, Dresden, Hamburg - making the apartment a convenient base for scholars working across the region.
