Our house is on a quiet street in a friendly, picturesque neighbourhood and has recently been refurbished from top to bottom. It would be ideal for professionals working in central London, or for those looking for a serene place in which to work or write, or indeed a family of 3/4 on holiday, wanting a comfortable, homely base from which to explore the city. Great location close to some of London's favourite areas (Broadway Market, Columbia Road, Shoreditch and more), and with good access to the city centre and airports. Dalston Junction station 10 mins walk, Highbury & Islington (Victoria line) 15 mins, Kings Cross/St Pancras (British Library) 30 mins, Oxford Circus 30 mins, Whitechapel (Elizabeth line) 20 mins. The ground floor has a 50ft open plan living space, with kitchen/dining area and connected utility room to the rear and snug sitting-room (two sofas, a woodburner, Sony TV/Netflix, etc) in the front. The kitchen opens directly onto an 80ft south-facing garden (updated pictures coming) surrounded by trees and with a secluded, rural feel that makes you forget you are in the middle of a city. It is well equipped (Bertazzoni range cooker, Fischer and Peykel double door fridge/ice maker, large toaster, Quooker boiling tap) and great for entertaining, offering ample space and tools for keen cooks, including a worktop and bar stool seating, as well as a table that seats 6-8 (not shown in the photographs – to be updated soon). There is also a guest loo on the ground floor. The first floor has an elegant sitting/reception room at the front of the house, with floor to ceiling windows, open fireplace, a large desk, sofa and claviola/piano. To the rear is a double bedroom with kingsize bed and en suite shower/wet-room. On the second floor, there is a large bedroom with superking bed in the front, and a dressing room and bath/shower-room which looks on to the garden at the rear. Cleaning: we require this every 14 days, including clean sheets, towels, and 4-5 hours of full house cleaning. Price £80. Garden: we would be grateful if you could water the plants during hot, dry periods, but will provide a gardener to come once or twice during your stay to do basic maintenance. Hackney offers many beautiful parks and nature reserves (Abney Park, Clissold Park, Springfield Park, Woodberry Wetlands, Lea Valley, and Walthamstow Marshes), along with wonderful Broadway Market for fresh food shopping on Saturdays and an abundance of amazing restaurants, pubs, cafes and bakeries (Little Duck Picklery, The Sportsman, Brat, E5 Bakehouse, Oren, The Prince Arthur, Elliot's on Mare St, to name a few). We love living in the area, and can happily provide you with a comprehensive list of any of the above.
