Garden Apartment in the Berkeley Hills

This exceptional basement apartment on Euclid Avenue is located in the home of two architects. As you might expect from such artistically inclined professionals, the space is tastefully furnished and flooded with light, looking into a sumptuous garden. It is a quick walk to the northern side of the UC, Berkeley campus and another walk down a neighborhood staircase to "gourmet gulch" on Shattuck Avenue close to the Cheese Board where freshly baked scones are available every morning. The apartment allows for absolute privacy as well as interaction with the owners if desired. It will be since they are exceptionally interesting people who love to make friends out of their tenants. We have stayed there three times and would love to stay again.

The apartment was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, with a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. It was well-maintained and inviting. The access to a lush garden with outdoor furniture allowed us to enjoy meals outside. The apartment is in a quiet and lovely residential area with beautiful houses and gardens. It is within walking distance to shops and restaurants and only a 20-minute walk to campus. There are bus stops and tennis courts nearby.

Halcyon and Roberto were the best hosts ever. They were friendly, helpful, and well-organized, making the rental process smooth. Communication with them was excellent before, during, and after our stay, which was greatly enhanced by having such a wonderful place and hosts.

Michael and I stayed at Halcyon and Roberto's flat for one year in 2021, as we were studying/researching at Berkeley University.

The flat is perfectly situed as it is very close to the campus and to many cafes, restaurants and grocery stores, whilst in a very calm and pleasant neighborhood. It is very well furnished: the bed is very comfortable, the kitchen very well equipped and everything is perfectly maintained. Roberto and Halcyon are extremely welcoming and generous landlords; they were also always helpful and responding if we had any issues or questions. The garden is beautiful and we loved spending time on our terrasse.

We had an amazing year, in large part thanks to this flat and Halcyon and Roberto.
