A self-contained 2-bed apartment close to Cape Town

We are an academic/NGO family with grown-up children. The 'pink house' is a much loved home in a very special village. The flat/cottage is the lowest level of the building. It is private and has its own entrance to the street. Dalebrook tidal pool for swimmers, and Kalk Bay reef for surfers, are right at the end of the road, a minute away. There are many beautiful mountain trails behind the house. The house has character and history, but also solar power, good appliances, and excellent security. There is a friendly community park (with Bob's Bagels), golden beaches, and an easygoing atmosphere. There are delis and restaurants. We love the mountains and swimming in the cold tidal pool at dawn. Kalk Bay also has yoga and pilates, an active fishing harbour, and golf just around a mountain in Clovelly. In less than 30 minutes you can get to UCT, Constantia, and Nordhoek wine estates, Atlantic seaboard villages (with more surfing), Cape Point, and other beautiful places. There is traffic on weekday mornings if you need to get to Cape Town city centre or Rondebosch (40 minutes to UCT) but it clears by 09h30. There are some steps up to the flat from the street because it is in an elevated position. The flat has a large split level living room, dining room, and kitchen. The kitchen has a fridge-freezer, microwave, and hob but no oven or dishwasher. Our cleaning lady can clean the flat whenever suits you, and also do your laundry weekly. There is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom with a bunkbed. The bathroom has bath and walk-in shower. There are three outside patios, one of which has a picnic table with mountain views. The whole flat has various sea and mountain views. There is a fireplace and gas heater for winter evenings. We will be just upstairs but you will not have ever to see us (though our old dog and golden retriever puppy may come and visit). We are quite new to this site so our trust score is low. But we are very trustworthy!
