The attic loft offers sweeping views of the Adriatic and the distant Dinaric mountains. It is located on Koločep, the southernmost inhabited island in the Adriatic, home to about 150 people, subtropical vegetation, a shop, café, post office, a tiny school with four pupils, one doctor, one fisherman, and no cars. Once a Greek settlement, its older name “Kalamota” is probably of Latin origin. Today the island is known for hidden bays, pine forests, clear sea, and unspoiled charm. Our house is an authentic Dalmatian captain’s home, close to the sea and ferry, yet surrounded by gardens and olive groves. We live on the lower floors; the attic loft is newly built, with its own entrance, a large terrace, underfloor heating, AC, and wonderful sea views. The kitchen is fully equipped with hob, oven, dishwasher, and all you need for cooking or baking. The ferry takes you to Dubrovnik in just 30 minutes—to explore the old city or shop at the market before returning to the island’s quiet.
