Faculty at four local universities, lawyers, doctors, nurses, and persons returning for more graduate study have loved being housemates here. Easy access to downtown, Duke, and 147. Unique architecture in a lovely neighborhood. Lots of trees. Great for writing, pause, and quiet. This tends to fill rapidly. The house is a Richard Harkrader original (If his name is unfamiliar you can google him in Durham to see what he was after when he built the home in the early 1980s) Office nooks, bedroom spaces, and privacy are easy to create with two-story home, a large kitchen with windows on two sides, and a private deck overseeing a large yard.. 12-month leases preferred. A Fall semester lease is available at this time. $850 per month. Available at this time in May of 2026. Carport wide enough for two vehicles, many bikes, and any tools you wish. No pets. No smoking inside or out. References and background check required. ** Many consider the space worth far more than the price. We are not seeking to make a profit. We are seeking good stewards. It matters most to us that others love the house like we do.
