Light-filled, spacious 2 bedroom apartment in beautiful, historic Hampstead

I stayed in Gerry's flat for nine weeks during the winter with my girlfriend and two kids. Gerry and Mark were excellent hosts -- responsive, helpful, and kind. The flat was clean and so comfortable, with all we needed to settle in. And the location is perfect, with the heath nearby, the tube station up the street, and the many fun cafes and shops. The stay was wonderful all around.

We had the pleasure of staying in Gerry's flat overlooking the charming high street of Hampstead in October. The location provides a welcoming home base of coffee shops, restaurants, book stores, and access to Hampstead Heath for long walks (and a handful of fine pubs to recover in)... while also sitting 50 yards from the Hampstead Northern Line tube stop, which will take you anywhere in London in no time at all. The flat is up an easy two flights of stairs, and is beautifully appointed, looking as good as the pictures on display with the listing. The kitchen has everything so you can cook in or even entertain. Living area, bath, and both bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The washer/dryer helps, too. In short, it is wonderful.

My family (me, husband &14 years old twins) enjoyed our stay very much. The flat is full of light, comfortable, clean and has everything you need. The kitchen is modern and well equipped with high standard utilities. The location, right in Hampstead High Street, is amazing, close to the lovely shops and restaurants, in the heart of Hampstead Village and short walk from the beautiful Heath. The tube is also two minutes walk from it. Despite the long distance, Gerry and Mark were approachable and quick to respond to any query. All in all, we had a great experience and would definitely like to stay in this flat again.

What a memorable stay we had in this Hampstead flat! The location was fabulous. It was close to everything anyone would need - cafés, shops, pubs, green places to walk, historic buildings, super public transport, and the busy yet intimate feeling of a friendly London village. The flat was immaculately clean and comfortable, with a sunny and modern kitchen. The entire house was well appointed and, when we closed the windows, perfectly quiet so studying, Zooming, and writing were possible on the desks in both bedrooms. As in any let, one or two small maintenance issues arose, but Mark and Gerry responded immediately and organised repairs. A cleaner came every 2 weeks. So A++ for location, efficiency, cleanliness, and the Blousteins!

We stayed in the flat from 1 September to 15th December 2019. The flat is just as shown in the pictures. It bright, clean and extremely functional. The location is fantastic! Easy access to the Underground and lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. YOU can get almost anywhere within London in 30-40 minutes. Perfect! Also, our dealings with Gerry (the owner) were great. She was extremely attentive to our emails. Staying here couldn't have been a better experience!

We stayed at Gerry and Mark's flat for three and a half months, from February - May 2019. We could not have been happier. The flat is just as described on the site and in the other reviews: light, clean, airy, with everything you need to cook at home and live comfortably. Gerry and Mark were prompt to answer any questions, and having Yasmeen come every two weeks to clean was a special treat. The location simply could not be better. We bought fish, meat, and wonderful French and Spanish cheeses at the local market across the street (the cheese ladies only come on Saturdays), and used Tesco and M&S for everything else. The Flask is the best local pub ever: great selection of beers, perfectly kept, and a relaxed atmosphere. (I'm missing my Meantime Yakima Red right now.) Plus the Heath. For exercise, I regularly took a four mile-walk there, a giant isosceles triangle: first slanted up to Kenwood House, popped in to say hi to one of the greatest Rembrandt self-portraits in the world, then slanted down to Parliament Hill, with a few detours along the way, and then traveled the base line home, with perhaps a stop by the Flask to restore any calories I might have lost. I was teaching in Bloomsbury, and my daily commute (via the Northern line) was under half an hour door-to-door, plus when I came home at night everything was so quiet and calm, especially as compared to Central London. If all that I've mentioned has any appeal, then this would be an excellent choice for you, quite possibly unbeatable.

We stayed for a month over Christmas and New Year. The flat is in great condition and really comfortable. The location is excellent, a minute from Hampstead underground station and a few minute's walk from Hampstead Heath. The flat is on the second floor, looking onto the high street. The double glazed windows keep the flat warm and quiet. The hosts were helpful and attentive with any questions. Highly recommended.

We could not have chosen a better place to live during our six month stay in London. 30 Hampstead High Street is a very secure 2nd floor walk up. The flat is clean, with beautiful natural light from several large windows. The open floor plan has beautiful hard wood floors, two large bedrooms, with comfortable beds. It is an efficient, well-appointed flat. It is very tastefully and minimally decorated, which we really enjoyed, preferring that to times when we’ve stayed in someone’s place filled with personal mementos, making it difficult to feel it was “ours.” The kitchen was small but well appointed, with well-functioning appliances and thegas hob was easy to operate. The clothes washer is reliable and small, but adequate. We air dried the clothing on a sturdy rack provided. The weekly cleaning service was a wonderful extra. Y. did a lovely job and left the flat sparkling each Monday. We just planned to be out of the flat during her visit so we wouldn’t be in the way. Gerry and Mark are great! They were very responsive and helpful landlords. All of the negotiations were clear and transparent. They made our return deposit very promptly after our stay. Cost of the rental was extremely fair considering London’s skyrocketing real estate. Though they reside in Australia they have good contacts in Hampstead if any problems arise. There is a book of detailed instructions which was very helpful and answered most of our questions. We were pleased to find a lot of travel guides, a selection of movies, books & CD’s. The internet service was extremely reliable. It was a wonderful convenience to have a printer available for work. Living on the High St offered easy access to bookstores, stationers, hardware store, Tesco Express, great bakeries--Paul, Gail’s, a number of great pubs (The Flask is highly recommended and right around the corner!) and most importantly the Underground—the Northern Line. This means a quick trip to Central London and easy access to all rail services out of the city. There is a bus stop right outside the flat, but it is not noisy. We were never bothered by street noise except for the typical city sounds of ambulance sirens, etc. We joined the Keats Community Library which is just a short walk away, and each Sunday walked down the High Street to the Unitarian Chapel to attend services. There is a real village feel to Hampstead. So much to discover and revel in, right in the neighborhood. Hampstead is a wonderful place to live! Our biggest joy was the easy access to the Hampstead Heath with its wonderful walking paths, hiking, and the beautiful ponds. Again, we could not have asked for more!

My family stayed in this flat Aug - Dec, 2016 and had the perfect stay. The flat is spacious and has EVERYTHING you need. It is convenient to the bus and the tube. The weekly cleanings are a nice bonus. My family always felt very comfortable walking around and exploring Hampstead. I must say that during the warmer months, it is a bit noisy with the windows open because of how close you are to the bus stop. Gerry was always very responsive when we had questions. You should not hesitate, if you are considering this flat.

We stayed in Gerry's flat in June of 2014 and had a fantastic time. Myself, my husband, and my two year old greatly enjoyed our stay in the flat. It is a spacious, tastefully decorated place and has all of the necessities but is not cluttered. The location is excellent. It is within walking distance of the tube (2/3 minutes), excellent cafes, shops, and fifteen minutes away from Hampstead Heath (and the Hampstead Heath overground). I had no trouble shuffling between archives in Central London and the National Archives in Kew. Gerry has been excellent at communicating the expectations of the place and the lease to us. There are no surprises. While Gerry is offsite, she has people in the city who can assist if there are any problems. We had a minor one with the washing machine but apart from that, our stay in this flat was most enjoyable.

I stayed at this beautiful flat for 2 months in spring 2014. The flat is spacious, bright, extremely clean, and well equipped. The neighborhood (right in the center of Hampstead village) couldn't be better - bus stop to London literally under the front window with buses every 5-10 minutes; tube a few minutes walk; easy walking distance to two groceries (M&S Simply Food, and a Tesco Metro), Boots chemist, pubs, restaurants etc. Despite being so central, the flat is very quiet (one neighbor upstairs, one down). I have been planning how to return ever since - thank you Gerry!

This flat was a dream. Windows allow wonderful natural light and it is excellently located with easy bus and tube line and multiple grocery store options within easy walking distance. Hampstead is a beautiful area and the flat is situated within easy walking distance of Hampstead Heath. It is carefully maintained and managed coming fully furnished and the owners kindly allow use of dishes, sheets and all daily living needs. All the furnishings and appliances are of high quality and the full wood floors throughout is ideal for those who prefer to avoid carpets. I stayed 4 months with my daughter and it was an ideal place to work - quiet (the windows are double pained so no noise from the high street) and very comfortably furnished with desks and work space. I wish we could have stayed on! We give it our highest recommendation.

My husband and I have stayed in this wonderful flat 3 times now, most recently in late spring and early summer 2013--and it would have been 4 times if it had not been already rented out when we wanted to come in the spring of 2011. The location is wonderful--right on Hampstead High Street, 3 minutes to the Hampstead stop on the Northern line (can be in a West End theatre seat 25-30 minutes after walking out of the flat), 10 minutes (or less) to Hampstead Heath where we love to walk, several buses right in front of the flat. And the flat itself is very attractive and comfortable--2 bedrooms, nice sitting/dining room, serviceable kitchen. We are both academics and we have found it easy to set up our computers, one in each bedroom (with one moved into the sitting room when guests come), and get a bit of work done. Windows are on both sides so the flat is quite light and easy to live in. Because it is not the primary residence of the owners, it is easy to settle in and feel it is your 'own', unlike some otherwise pleasant places we've stayed where owners' family pix and the like made one always feel like a guest rather than the 'real' resident. Kitchen is moderately well-equipped--serious cooks might want better knives and a few other things, but one can turn out reasonable meals. Nearby interesting shops, lots of good restaurants, plus many intriguing streets down which one can wander--all these make it an attractive area in which to live, albeit an expensive one (but then London is generally rather pricey these days). Would be nice if it were Waitrose rather than Tesco supermarket that's a 2-minute walk away but you can usually get essentials at Tesco and do more serious shopping at Waitrose down the hill near the Finchley Rd tube stop, taking the bus back uphill to the flat if you don't feel like carrying lots of groceries up the hill.. Owners Gerry and Mark Bloustien are lovely people, who are very helpful, and, though they themselves are based in Australia, they have arranged excellent support services on the ground in London, including a really wonderful cleaning person. And if necessary, the Bloustiens are readily accessible via e-mail (or phone at the appropriate times). People with mobility issues might find the two flights of stairs somewhat daunting but except for the first day when we need to get the luggage up it has not been an issue for us (and one of us is over 80, the other mid-70s). All in all, we can highly recommend this flat. It combines the convenience of ready access to central London with the pleasures of wandering on the Heath and through little Hampstead byways, a perfect blend of amazing city pleasures and refreshing tastes of nature and of picturesque little corners evoking earlier London life. We might feel a little too guiltily privileged were this flat our own permanent residence but it is perfect for a visit of a few weeks or months. We recommend it with great enthusiasm--as do our many friends and family who have visited us there!

This is a wonderful flat and Gerry Bloustein could not have been more gracious and helpful. We spent 6 months there last year on sabbatical and were delighted with our choice of accommodation. The flat is on the High street in Hempstead with the Heath very close by. The tube station is a few minutes away and there is a bus stop right in front of the flat. Hempstead is a charming place with a rich history and there are restaurants, coffee shops and great pubs close by. The flat is well appointed, clean, full of light and worked perfectly for us. My husband and I stayed here for four months while he taught in London. The flat could not have been more conveniently located for us, nor better appointed. We appreciated the large size (especially for a flat in London), and were able to have friends and relatives visit. The kitchen was adequate, and we had no trouble cooking for ourselves or hosting friends for dinner. Though the flat is on a high street, it quiets down considerably at night, and the windows facing the street are doubled to minimize sound. In addition to the tube station (serving the Northern Line) being only a few yards up the street, two buses stop right outside on the high street. These buses were quite convenient, including one that goes to a large shopping center (about a 15 min walk or bus ride). Hampstead Heath is no more than a 10 minute walk away, and we enjoyed its proximity. We also enjoyed the many great restaurants, cafes, bakeries and pubs in Hampstead Village. We'd love to stay here again.
