NOTE: Currently booked through August 15 2026. Available for Spring semester (January 2027 - May 2027) Welcome to our historic home in Marquette. Built in 1906, our home is filled with original details, tall ceilings, and stunning hardwood floors. This three-flat is owned and occupied by two educator sisters. We’re renting our first floor flat — typically owner occupied -- which has beautifully tall windows, making it a very bright home. The first floor flat has a private entrance from our cozy front porch. This is a one-bedroom apartment and serves as our own sanctuary for writing and relaxing during the summer months. It includes a nicely sized living and dining room, one-bedroom with a king-size bed, a full kitchen, full-bath, and a separate in-unit laundry room. You’ll have access to street parking (very easy, typically on the block, no permits necessary), and we’re a 10 minute drive or Uber from the Madison airport. The house is located within walking distance of the Capital and Atwood neighborhood, and it's just steps from several bus lines, Lake Monona, the beach, and Willy Street, where you’ll find restaurants, bakeries, bars, and the best coop in the country. No need for a car if you don't want one or are just visiting! We’re a quick bus ride or bike ride to campus (or a walk, which we used to do!). Madison is a bike and walk-friendly city. This is a perfect house for an individual or couple transitioning to Madison, a visiting faculty member in the city for one or two semesters, or writers and academics looking for an escape to write. Madison (and the Marquette neighborhood) is a special place in the summer and the winter, alike! About us: We're two professors. Would you like to take a look at more pictures of the apartment? You can do so here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1jhsNVAfOSILmx5m_qRRetZB9DZinmjqW?usp=sharing (We only took over the apartment in Summer 2024 from a longterm tenant and we're updating with every season with new furniture and artwork, so feel free to take a look at more images, but please note that we'll update again in Summer 2026).
