Tropical Garden Oasis: A lush, beautifully maintained garden with fruit trees (banana, passion fruit, raspberries), a large swing, and ancient trees. The garden is lovingly cared for by our gardener. Warm & Inviting Interiors: Fine wood craftsmanship throughout, a cozy fireplace, and elegant design elements. Spacious Living: Two bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, and an enormous, fully equipped kitchen. Additional Perks: A gazebo for relaxation or al fresco dining, and optional use of the hot tub fed by a volcanic spring (by arrangement). Charming Companions: The property is home to three wonderful dogs who will make your stay even more delightful. Guest House Details: The guest house is a private, detached building located across the garden. It’s perfect for hosting visitors or as a hobby space, currently set up with a table tennis table. Location Highlights: Nestled in a secure and central area of Panajachel, this home provides easy access to all the town’s amenities while offering a peaceful, retreat-like environment. With the overpopulation of street dogs here, finding adopters is nearly impossible, and we couldn’t bear to leave them to fend for themselves. These lovable and loyal dogs are part of the property’s charm and come "with the house," so to speak. Lady: The gentle and loving mother. Zen & Tyrion: Her two playful and affectionate sons. Why You'll Love Them: These adorable dogs are extremely sweet-natured and will quickly win you over with their charm. Protective Guardians: The property is already secure with high walls and even higher bougainvilleas, but the presence of three large dogs adds an extra layer of safety. They bark at unfamiliar sounds, making them excellent watchdogs, yet they’re gentle and affectionate. Well-Behaved: The dogs aren’t allowed inside the house and sleep in crates located between the main house and the kitchen. They’re responsive to commands and enjoy playing together in the spacious garden. Care & Arrangements: If you need to leave for travel, the gardener can stay in the guest house to care for the dogs while you’re away. For those willing to walk the dogs for at least an hour 4 times a week, we’re happy to reduce the rent to $600/month. Otherwise, we would hire a dogwalker. Convenient Location: An expat-oriented health clinic with outpatient services is just a 2-minute walk away. A major grocery store is a 2-minute walk away. The vibrant open-air food market is a 10-15 minute stroll, and the bustling main shopping street, Calle Santander, is right outside the door.
