We call it our Meadow "Sweet" Retreat. Private guest home attached to the main house. . It has a private deck entrance with the option of using the shared entrance. We built this comfy, bright cheery two story guest dwelling in 2017 and it is approximately 1080 square feet. There are hardwood floors with area rugs throughout. The spacious main living space is 21x21 kitchen/ living / dining room open floor plan with 9.5 ceiling height. The comfortable living room furnishings include a sofa sleeper for the occasion guest. There are a sliding glass doors leading to the wrap around deck making easily accessible to the open air and sky meadow comforts. The kitchen is fully equipped with and all needed glassware, and dinnerware, kitchen tools, small appliances, gas range, dishwasher. There is a round kitchen table with four chairs overlooking the meadow . The island bar with three stools offers an additional seating and a nice work station option. There is a stairway leading to the 2nd floor bedroom, also 21x21 with an angled gable ceilings. The north and south facing casement windows allowing the summer breeze to flow through nicely and with evening temperatures in northern door often below 70 degrees - it makes for very comfortable sleeping . The room is uncluttered with king bed, night stands, lamps, sofa, ottoman, dresser and desk. The first floor bathroom has a tiled glass shower and with a south facing view to the meadow. The southwest wrap around cedar platform deck offers added outdoor living space. A Weber gas grill, wrought iron table and chairs and other comfortable lounging furniture makes it easy to spend half the day outside. The guest house shares utilities with the main house and shares one of the two laundry rooms in the house. There is also separate gas fireplace in the Meadow sweet on the first floor for extra coziness in the fall The “backyard” offer a quiet, private, whimsical open meadow with no houses in site as far as you can see. It is a serene place to enjoy stunning sunsets, take in the night sky , reading a book or having an inspired conversation with a friend. There are Adirondack chairs and a fire pit and three large cedar picnic tables for the occasion fiesta /celebration with fresh produce from our vegetable garden, We are less than a mile from Lake Michigan shore and Sand Bay Beach Park and just far enough away for the village of Sister Bay to feel rural but easily accessible. If you want to get out of the heat, enjoy crisp fresh mornings, daily walks on the lake Michigan shore and enjoy all around general spaciousness our month to month rental is a great splurge.
