Quiet historic farmhouse in the Danishwohld outside Kiel

We like to rent out our family timber-framed cottage – classified as a national heritage. It is surrounded by a big garden. It is located just outside the city of Kiel as well as close to various coasts of the Baltic Sea, which will offer you a relaxing break or quite work environment. The house is located in the second row of central village road. It is only accessible over a small 'resident-only' road, therefore, there is no traffic. The site is a quiet space, since the house shilds the garden away from the next neighbors. The view from the sun side of house is outstanding, as you are looking into the 3000-qm-large garden with various fruit trees as well as several old trees. Beyond this you look into open agriculture fields, where the sun gets up in morning moves around into the afternoon. Not only for sabbatical stays but also for other breaks in life, the house offers a lot. The 200-qm-large historic farmhouse, original built around the year 1700, has recently been carefully renovated to keep its traditional atmosphere but equipped with all needed utilities for a modern life style. The house is fully furnished. It is dominated by the large central barn floor with floor heating and looks up on a large arch of a cylindrical vault containing two fire places. All rooms take off from this barn floor. A combined full kitchen and dinning room, a sunny living room, one full bathroom (with shower, tub and floor heating) and a half bathroom (only equipped toilet and sink), three-and-a-half bed rooms, house keeping room with washing machine, and a workshop or art room. There are several opportunities to set up inspiring workspace if your stay is for writing papers. Two of the bedrooms are small chambers mostly filled by a queensize-beds and a book shelf and south facing windows into the garden– a fantastic place to retreat for book reading and resting over the day, listening the birds early in morning, when staying there over night. In the garden you find a traditional northern German beach chair which keeps you wind shielded enjoying sitting outside on sunny days – even if the air is still crisp. As well as staying indoors and watching the wind blowing the trees from the hóuse, you can enjoy nice walks/bicycle trips to various nearby coasts of Baltic Sea (2 to 5 km distance). For a nice stroll directly form the house the village is surround by typical north German country lanes through the fields bounded by hedgerow against the wind. Although the location is in a quite village, you find a full grocery store with a lot of organic products in the neighbor village Dänischenhagen - in walking/biking distance (2 km). Thus you can go shopping and doing your daily walking/biking through the fields at the same time. We believe that this is a really great and unique place to stay. We do not, however, recommend wheel chaired people or people who do not like old houses to renting this place. The house is located in a small village near to Dänischenhagen, located just 20 min by car from city center of Kiel, thr cultural heart with concert hall, opera, museums and 15 min from the main campus of University of Kiel. Also other research facilities near by such GEOMAR or the College of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule) and are also well connected. The metropolentan region of Hamburg with Universities, world famous concert halls and vibrant cultural life is directly connected over High Way or public transportation aprox. 1 h drive/travel. The house located close to several beaches (3-5 km) with a lot of infrastructure like cozy restaurants, small shops and small harbors for sailing boots but also close by lonely steep coast with long stretches of a high cliff lines. Next supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, and other shop of daily use are located in Dänischenhagen (2km away). If you are looking for a nice countryside in Northern Germany to stay for whatever purposes, this can be the very special place and good starting base for you!
