Description

This is a house where I go to for my periods of reading and writing. It is in a secluded village of only 24 houses with an 11th century military castle overlooking it. The village is at the middle of pristine nature with juniper, pine and oak trees. It provides absolute calm, but also lots of possibilities for hikes and 3 GR hiking routes that cross at the village. It is close to some unique historical sites such as the fortified city of Couvertoirade, but also Cavalerie. It is in the Causses natural reserve and at the entry of the Cevennes natural reserve. The house has been renovated in good taste and has all the amenities. The windows open on the view of the valley. The river Dourbie, which is very clean and still very wild, is 15 minutes walk from the village where you can swim and do other water sports. The village is 20 minutes drive from the closest shops, so it is good to have a car. The house has a 1100 m2 garden where there are several spots with tables and internet suitable for reading/writing. The house has a very large fireplace, a wood burning stove and a pellet burning stove.
