HISTORIC 1912 RUSTIC CABIN IN LYTLE CREEK. Near Claremont Colleges.

Description

Originally New Yorkers, we came to LA to work in the film industry. As we have a 100 year old family compound in the Adirondacks we have strived to recreate the feel of that place, and to a degree have in "Blackberry Creek Camp". While it has modern ammenities, it's also a throwback to simpler times. The cabin interior is all done in rustic doug fir wainscotting salvaged and upcycled from the camp. Antiques and comfortable furnishings contribute to a relaxed and unfussy environment. There is a large open plan vaulted kitchen with modern frig, gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, and toaster oven. There are 2 sinks, a large prep island and a bar counter with stools. In the dining area a rustic table seats 8. The living room features a dramatic open beam space. Vintage windows frame the outdoors and a working wood fireplace graces the room. Off the living room are a small office (with twin bed) and a dedicated TV room (which has several couches that could be used for sleeping). On this main level is the master bedroom which has 6 windows and its own ensuite bathroom. At the other end of the ground floor is the "Rock Room" so named because one wall of it indeed features a low rock wall. In this area is also a fishing themed bathroom with a walk in shower. The cabin has a second floor which includes two small "attic" rooms; one with a double bed, one a room with 2 single beds. On this level is a 3/4's bathroom. Other ammenities include central heat and air conditoning and multiple overhead fans. The camp features large wraparound porches with views of mountains and wilderness. This area has a dining table that can handle 12. A BBQ and firepit are additonal ad ons. Directly behind the house is a winding path that leads to Lytle Creek. Depending on the time of year this may be a meandering creek, or forceful river. Walking up the creek offers up stunning views of the the San Bernadino Mountains. Because of the constant water butterflies, birds and wildlife are ever present. At this point, though a house is next door, it is vacant so there is abundance privacy. Locally there is "Melody's" a long time fixture which has a small general store, restaurant and a bar. Lytle Creek is an approximate 15 miute drive from Fontana, CA. Here are grocery stores, big box hardware places, numerous eateries, and other conviences. The camp, depending on traffic, is about 30 minutes from the Claremont Colleges and 75 minutes from Downtown LA with no traffic.
