I will be spending the spring on sabbatical in Spain, and during that time I’m hoping another scholar or professional will make use of my Tucson home. It has been a steady and comfortable place for me to work, write, and host friends, and I think it would be well-suited for someone looking for the same balance of productivity and rest. The house is a single-story residence with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a dedicated office. It’s fully furnished and set up for both everyday living and focused work. The living room has Saltillo tile floors, a deep green accent wall, and bookshelves that make the space feel both cozy and inviting. It’s a good spot for reading, conversation, or just winding down at the end of the day. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and plenty of cabinetry, and there’s a small coffee station that makes mornings easy. A dining area connects naturally to the rest of the house. The primary bedroom has a king bed and sliding doors that open directly to the back patio, with an en suite bathroom nearby. The guest room has a queen bed and access to a second full bath. Both rooms are quiet and comfortable. One of the parts of the house I rely on most is the office. It has a desk, external monitor, shelving, and natural light from the windows. With reliable Wi-Fi and a door that closes, it’s an easy place to settle in for research or writing. The back patio is another favorite space. It’s shaded and decorated with colorful murals and potted desert plants. I often start the day with coffee out there or take breaks between writing sessions. The front yard is landscaped with native plants and anchored by a tall saguaro cactus that feels distinctly Tucson. The house has central air conditioning, ceiling fans, a washer and dryer, and strong Wi-Fi throughout. It will be rented fully furnished, including linens, kitchenware, and other basics so you can settle in easily. There is also a 2-car garage attached to the home and a community pool available for use. The neighborhood is quiet but convenient, with quick access to the University of Arizona, downtown, and hiking in the Catalina foothills. Tucson’s 131-mile Loop biking and walking path is also nearby.
