I am an assistant professor at Columbia and will be out of the country from mid-January to late-June, so I'm looking for a tenant to sublet my apartment while I'm away. I have a one bedroom apartment that is a fourth floor walk-up. I absolutely love the location! It is on a tree-lined street that is just one block away from Central Park as well as the Museum of Natural History. A, B, 1, 2, and 3 trains are all a short walk away (8 minutes at most), so almost any part of Manhattan (and its many universities) is within 30 minutes by public transit. The neighborhood is very safe and beautiful, with many shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores nearby. There is a Citi Bike station directly across the avenue. Most avenues have a protected bike lane. The apartment itself is a decent size for Manhattan, and has high ceilings and an exposed brick wall. The apartment is fully furnished with a bed, pull-out couch, desk, office chair, television, large computer monitor, and printer. The bathroom and kitchen are your typical small Manhattan-sized bathroom and kitchen, but are perfectly serviceable. There can be some street noise as you might expect, but the neighbors are quiet and polite. There is a washer and dryer in the basement, but no additional storage space, so if you bring/rent a bike, you'll have to haul it up and down the stairs. (I used to do this with a road bike and it was fine, but kind of annoying.) Anything else you'd like to know, just ask!
