Welcome to our family house in Bodrum! It is a modern three-bed in a central residential area of Bodrum (my father was the architect:). The house sits next to my parents’ house and is inside a peaceful gated community with a private garden and a shared pool used by four houses. The house is fully furnished and set up for long stays and sabbaticals. It suits a couple, a small family, or two colleagues who want separate work and sleep spaces. The garden, shaded veranda, and two upstairs balconies allow indoor and outdoor living. The ground floor is 25 m² with open kitchen and living area that opens to a 12 m² covered veranda and the private garden. The kitchen is complete with oven, cooktop, refrigerator, dishwasher, kettle, cookware, and tableware. A 12 m² bedroom on this level works well for guests or a study. The adjacent 4 m² bathroom has a walk-in shower. A 3.5 m² laundry room keeps appliances and storage out of sight. There is A/C in each room. Upstairs there are two quiet bedrooms and a second 4 m² bathroom with shower. The larger bedroom is 25 m² and opens to a 9 m² balcony facing the garden. The private garden is low-maintenance with automatic watering, and mature trees and flowering shrubs. By the pool there is a dining table suitable for outdoor barbecue. The pool is large enough for laps and quick dips. Night lighting around the grounds and pool creates a cosy atmosphere. Bodrum centre and the nearest seaside at Bitez are a 10/15 minute drive. Public transport runs nearby, but a car is recommended. Shops are within a 10-minute walk, including the Friday weekly bazaar. PS. I am an academic and do my writing in this haven. It is impossible to be distracted, apart from the beauty of the sky and views (featuring Greek island Kos) at sunrise, sunset, and all the times and colours in between.
