I’m an artist, educator and filmmaker who divides my time between Istanbul and London. My work moves between storytelling, community projects, women’s football, and creative research, so I spend periods of the year travelling, teaching, filming, or developing new projects. When I’m away, I like the idea of this home being lived in by people who value places with personality, depth and creative potential. This flat is my base in the heart of Beyoglu; a place where I work, think, write, edit, plan, and rest. It has become the space where many ideas have taken shape, from film concepts to academic projects to workshop plans. I’ve designed it with intention: high ceilings, lots of natural light, an open sense of calm, and a layout that supports focused work as much as downtime. It’s an artist’s home, and it has that atmosphere: expressive but not cluttered, warm without being fussy, comfortable in a way that makes it easy to settle in quickly. This flat is for guests who appreciate a home with creative energy and who can use it as a base for meaningful work, research, writing, or simply a thoughtful period of living in Istanbul. Scholars, researchers, writers, remote workers, artists, academics on sabbatical, and people working on long-term projects tend to be the best fit. I find that guests who come with intention, whether that’s finishing a manuscript, preparing a conference paper, developing a creative project, or simply immersing themselves in the cultural life of the city, tend to connect most naturally with the space. The neighbourhood itself is lively, full of independent cafés, small galleries, bookstores, artists’ studios, and the layered history that defines this part of the city. It’s an energetic urban setting, and that is part of its charm. It’s not a quiet suburb, it’s a lived-in part of central Istanbul, with the movement and character that come with that. I’m looking for guests who feel comfortable with that kind of environment and who are drawn to the cultural richness of the city rather than seeking silence or seclusion. The flat is fully furnished and set up for both living and working. There is a dedicated workspace/studio area, strong Wi-Fi, modern heating, and everything you’d expect for longer stays. The natural light is one of the things people always comment on, along with the sense of openness created by the high ceilings. If you need a home where you can spend long hours reading, writing, thinking, or working remotely, it will serve you well. I care about hosting people who treat the space with respect; not in a strict or formal way, but simply with the understanding that this is a home that holds creative work, memories, and care. I welcome people who appreciate well-designed interiors, who notice light and texture, who like to make a place feel like home while they’re in it, and who leave things in good shape when they go. The flat can be suitable for young children depending on the circumstances, and I’m open to discussing that on a case-by-case basis. There are a few considerations: no pets, no smoking, and no on-site parking. There are flight of stairs to access the flat. Beyond that, I’m generally flexible and prefer to communicate openly about any specific needs or preferences you might have. Overall, this is a place guests who will enjoy living here as much as I do when I’m in Istanbul; people who value culture, creativity, good light, thoughtful space, and the vibrant everyday life of a new city. If you’re looking for a well-designed home that supports both work and rest, right in the centre of Istanbul, this flat is a good fit. If you feel aligned with this kind of environment and rhythm, I’d be happy to host you.
