We have a 2 bedroom plus office (about 1400 sq. ft.) home in a less urban section of Boston called Jamaica Plain. It is available for a minimum of 4 weeks, up to a maximum of 6 weeks any time between January 6 and April 6, 2026. You can suggest the start and end date that works for you. No car needed - close to both the subway and a major bus line, and is an easy walk to many restaurants and stores. But if you have a car, we have a driveway for parking! The place is furnished, and is our primary residence. Linens, blankets, sheets, towels, dishware, pots, pans, and utensils are available. We have efficient heating and cooling systems (new heat pump in 2025 for A/C and heat) and legacy gas/steam boiler with radiators. Over the past decade, we have had at least 2 dozen happy house/pet sitters who have enjoyed 1 to 3 week long stays in our house, but this time we'll be gone longer and don't need pet sitting. We can direct you to reviews from those house sits. We have cleaners every two weeks, and would continue the house cleaning during any rental we set up. The layout of the house: 1st floor is an entry area - a place to hang coats, put on boots, etc., and stairs to the 2nd floor The 2nd floor has an open dining room with table and chairs, and a raised bar facing the kitchen with 2 bar stools. There is a gas stove, dishwasher and refrigerator, as well as a bread oven and over-range microwave. Also on this floor is the office and 2nd bedroom (with wall-mounted TV), and a full bathroom (tub with shower). There is an open staircase to the upper floor. 3rd floor includes a living room with 55" TV, the master bedroom with bath (shower) and a laundry room (washer & dryer.) Floors throughout are distressed hardwood, probably from the original construction in 1870. We are the owners since the late 1990's, and have completed a few renovations of the exterior, the most recent was siding repairs, insulation work and re-painting in 2025. Interior renovation projects have taken place in waves since 2000. The house is on a small lot, with just a small front yard and driveway. There is a deck off the second floor for some outdoor space. We would plan to make move-in and move-out readings of Gas, Electric, and Water meters, to provide a cost of those utilities to be paid to us by the renter. We would also discuss other minimal house responsibilities, like trash/recycling and snow removal. No broker fee. Comments: Convenient to subway (Orange Line) and main bus (#39), many restaurants, stores and great outdoor spaces (Emerald Necklace, Jamaica Pond, and Arhold Arboretum)
Comments: Home wifi is available, there is no cable currently. Renter will be responsible for Electric, Water and Gas utilities, which will be metered and reported for reimbursement. Our regular cleaners will visit every 2 weeks.
Comments: Off-street parking available. We would prefer no pets, but we could discuss.
Comments: Trash / recycling / compost collection and snow removal can be negotiated.
