The kitchen is well equipped for real cooking: stove + oven, dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, blender, plus all cookware and utensils. A big plus: the apartment has exclusive access to the building’s large backyard, furnished with couches, a firepit, picnic table, grill, and storage sheds. It’s a great spot for winter fires, outdoor meals, or hanging out with a dog. The location is ideal—just one block from Fort Greene Park and close to the neighborhood’s main streets. Multiple subway lines are within a 2–8 minute walk, with easy access to Manhattan and the rest of Brooklyn. Pets: Quiet dogs are welcome. The unit sits at the back of a hallway rarely used by other tenants, which works well for most pups; dogs that are reactive to foot traffic at front doors might not be comfortable here. About me: I’m a 44-year-old professional working at NYU. I’ve lived in NYC for 8 years after a decade abroad, and I’ll be spending this winter and spring in Boston and Syracuse helping my elderly stepmother relocate.
