Thanks so much for considering our property. We are a Franco-American family who have lived and worked overseas for many years, particularly in South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Those experiences shape both how we live and how we host, and you’ll see subtle influences from our travels reflected in the decor of the house. We now call Charente home and value its calm pace, natural beauty, and sense of everyday life. Verteuil is a special place to us, and we hope it offers you the same sense of ease, focus, and belonging during your stay. We’re always available to answer questions and are happy to help make your time here comfortable and rewarding. We are looking for guests who will enjoy and respect the calm nature of the house and the village. Our home is best suited to individuals, couples, or families seeking a quiet place for a sabbatical, remote work, study, or an extended stay. We value guests who are considerate, self-sufficient, and comfortable with a slower pace of life. This is a lived-in home, not a party rental, smocking is not allowed inside the house, and we hope to welcome guests who will treat it with care and appreciate its simplicity, character, and surroundings.
