We are offering our beloved secondary home in the heart of the Côte d'Or, a 100-year-old converted barn located in a certified "Starry Village" (Village Étoilé). We have designed this space as a sanctuary for "slow living" and deep work, making it an ideal summer base for a professor, writer, or couple looking to finish a manuscript, research project, or simply decompress in total silence. The house is a character property spanning three levels, seamlessly blending the original farmhouse (fermette) with the open volume of the barn. It is spacious enough to host visiting adult children or friends while maintaining your privacy. For Work: The home features a dedicated mezzanine office and a library, offering a quiet, inspiring workspace with high-speed internet. For Rest: We prioritize sleep quality. The two primary suites feature Sofitel MyBed™ mattresses (160cm and 180cm)—luxury hotel standard. The calm of the valley ensures undisturbed nights. For Living: The ground floor features a fully equipped kitchen (more "home chef" than "rental"), a dining area, and a cozy salon with a wood stove and home cinema projector (we consciously chose no TV). Outdoors- The garden offers complete privacy with views stretching across the valley. Summer life here revolves around the terrace and the South African braai area (BBQ). We are located near the medieval village of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain and the Fontenay Abbey (UNESCO). The house neighbors the Château de Sainte-Colombe and its Arcade Design Center, providing a rare mix of rural isolation and cultural stimulation. Note: A car is essential for daily life (groceries, markets, exploring). Availability & Rates Primary Availability: Summer 2026 (July & August). Minimum Stay: We prefer stays of 2+ weeks to maintain the rhythm of the house. Ideal Tenant: Academics, writers, or mature couples who will appreciate the calm and care for our home as their own.
