I am looking for responsible tenants who will appreciate living in my beautiful home, who wish to have peace and quiet beside the sea, to write in the summerhouse, paint in the studio, or relax on the verandah. You will live in a character cottage full of antique furniture, Persian rugs, books and paintings. There are sea views from almost every window. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a bench for breakfast overlooking the garden and the sea. There is one downstairs double bedroom and 2 upstairs, one double and one single, this room is also used as an office. I can supply bedding and towels if you want them. The bathroom has a shower and toilet, and there is also a separate toilet. There is a dining room with an oak table seating 8, and a huge sitting room, formerly an artist's studio whose paintings are on the walls, with 3 sofas, an open fireplace, and plenty of room for entertaining. Adjoining this is a verandah with cane chairs overlooking the garden and the sea and over to the 14th century medieval church. The whole cottage has just been repainted, and renovations include new double glazed windows, new radiators and new floor coverings. It has not been over modernised however, the cottage is more than 200 years old so it also has the old world charm of wonky walls and creaky floors. Outside in the colourful garden there is a summerhouse, a garage with a room attached which has been used as a studio, and an outside toilet. There are tables and benches around the garden offering varying views of the Firth of Forth. The village is very friendly, with 3 cafes, an award winning restaurant, 2 grocery shops, a craft shop and a hairdresser. Many staff from the University of St Andrews live here or in the adjacent villages, and there are many activities to get involved in. There is a primary school in the village, and a secondary school 3 miles away. Nearby is a farm shop, bakery, post office, garage, art galleries, more cafes, beaches and golf courses. Sea bathing is very popular with an outdoor pool in St Monans, and mobile saunas at various local beaches. There are lovely walks in all directions, along the coast or inland over rolling hills. Just 12 miles to St Andrews, 45 minutes to Dundee, around an hour to Edinburgh and Perth. There is a regular bus service to St Andrews. The roads are quiet with no traffic jams.

Comments: My cottage is in one of the famous East Neuk fishing villages, full of quaint white cottages with red pantile roofs. It overlooks the Firth of Forth and the medieval church, with beaches, golf, sailing all close by and St Andrews just 12 miles away.
