Hello! I'm Marie, a language educator and yoga teacher. As a young person in an academic family and then as a student myself, I was very fortunate to travel and live abroad and be welcomed into other people's homes. Now that I'm settled here in Nova Scotia, I would enjoy the chance to host academics or others who are visiting Dartmouth and Halifax and open up my home. The space is a 2-bedroom condo where I live with my 5-year-old dog. There is an office space, which I typically use during standard working hours, but which you would be welcome to use at any other time. The dining table is also available as a workspace, and we have a Second Cup and a nice library about 10 minutes walk away if you want an out of the house space to work. You would have your own bedroom and we'd share the kitchen, bathroom, and living room during your stay. Some things to know: there is a bus a few minutes walk away that passes regularly and goes directly to downtown Halifax (Scotia Square). But if you're going to SMU or Dal, you'd need to connect on a second bus. The area itself and the condo are pretty calm and quiet, which is a plus or minus depending on what you're looking for. And there is tons of street parking available if you have a car.

Comments: I have a large golden doodle! Cats would not be suitable, but I'm open to discussion on other dogs. Parents/small children would need to be comfortable with the presence of a large dog.

Comments: Close to the beaches of the Eastern Shore, but downtown Halifax is still accessible by public transport. Everyday conveniences (groceries, drug store, etc) are all close by.
