Great location for a sabbatical scholar family of 3, or a couple with 2 kids (see note regarding toddlers), or a group of 3 quiet, graduate or postdoc researchers, one for each bedroom. Very private, tasteful furnishings, tranquil environment. Elegant, furnished two-storey house conveniently located in close proximity to UC Berkeley campus, UCB affiliates. Campus shuttles, Berkeley Lab shuttles, and UCB affiliate shuttles are very near. Thrice a week, the Farmers Market operates in different parts of Berkeley. For fresh, organic produce, shop at Berkeley Bowl and Monterey Market. The ever-convenient Trader Joe's is also close by. Public transportation to San Francisco and Oakland are easily accessible via Bart (Downtown Berkeley Bart station is about ten minutes). Several private schools e.g. Montessori, Berkwood Hedge, and public schools close by. Public schools include Washington Elementary School just around the corner, Berkeley High School across the street, and King Junior High, a short walk or bicycle ride. Monthly rent $5300. 1st floor - consists of Living Room, a separate, formal Dining Room - great for entertaining, 1 bathroom with shower, sink & toilet, separate coin-op laundry room. Leased coin-op washer & dryer, fully-equipped, galley style kitchen with large refrigerator, dishwasher, gas stove/oven with range hood, microwave, coffee maker, utensils and dishes. Downstairs bathroom also on first floor. 2nd floor - has 3 bedrooms with 2nd bathroom. Main bedroom has a skylight and queen-size bed. Second BR. is light and airy with three windows and a twin-size bed. Third bedroom has twin-size bed with a private deck. All three have room-darkening shades and silken draperies, and plentiful bed and bath linens. High speed Internet (both Ethernet and wireless). Upstairs bathroom has tub, shower, toilet and sink, while downstairs bathroom has shower, sink and toilet. Rent is $5300 per month plus security deposit of $5300. Owner pays for all utilities - water, gas/electricity, high speed unlimited Internet, refuse and recycling pickup, and does not charge tenants. Owner lives onsite, very responsive and efficient in arranging for fixes or repairs when/if are needed. The location is a big draw. The house provides comfort and convenience since it's within a short distance of campus, public transportation, shopping (Berkeley Bowl and Trader Joe's are close by), recreational and cultural attractions (parks, hiking trails, theaters). Film buffs can see old classics, art films and timely documentaries at the University's Pacific Film Archives. Shared coin-op laundry and refuse/recycling bins. Absolutely no smokers, no animals. All utilities (water, gas/solar, refuse collection, Internet) are paid by Owner-landlord. Owner also pays for quarterly cleaning of refuse, compost and recycling bins.
