It is on the 3rd floor above ground (4th floor in North America), with a wide hallway, comfortable kitchen with table for two, large living/dining room with dining seating for 6, and huge bedroom, all with large windows, period doors and pine floors. The bedroom is so large that it has an office corner, which is why the description lists both a bedroom and an office. Eclectic, stylish furnishings include original art, antiques, great kitchenware and sofa-bed for guests. Fiber-optic Internet is included. Layout is flexible enough to accommodate overnight visitors. The convenient U8 subway is just a 5 minute walk away on Kottbusser Damm, and takes you to Alexanderplatz in just a few stops. From there the S-Bahn takes you to the Humboldt University, the State Library Unter den Linden, the Free University's Dahlem Campus, the Wissenschaftskolleg, etc. A convenient bus service from nearby Hermannplatz takes you directly to the New State Library, Checkpoint Charlie, the Ka-De-We department store and Charlottenburg. From Hermannplatz, the U7 goes straight to Schöneberg and Charlottenburg. In the opposite direction, the U7 takes you to Rudow where there is a bus connection to Berlin Brandenburg airport. The journey is about an hour. If you like to cycle (and bikes are included), the ride to the Staatsbibliothek at Potsdam Platz is a pleasant 20 minute ride along the canal.
