We are offering our home at a significantly reduced rate since we would like our tenants to take good care of our special Bengal cat. The house has many period features (such as sash windows, original fireplaces, wooden floors) and is arranged over three floors. There is wifi throughout and even in parts of the garden. STUDY / MUSIC ROOM: piano, desk/table, comfortable large sofa KITCHEN: recently refurbished, very spacious, with Aga (cooker and oven that keeps the house cosy and warm) as well as a modern oven and induction hob, dishwasher, double Belfast sink, freezer, large stainless steel fridge, pantry cupboard, breakfast bar. Door leading to kitchen garden. UTILITY ROOM: Integrated washing machine and more cupboards with kitchen equipment. Wifi-sound system. DOWNSTAIRS BATHROOM: antique basin, large powerful shower and WC. GARDEN ROOM / DINING ROOM: wonderfully light and airy room with oak table and wicker chairs, French doors leading into the mature garden. GARDEN: exceptionally large south-facing garden with mature trees, flowerbeds, seating area with bench, table, parasol, chairs and further benches at the far end of the garden (not visible in photo) First floor: MASTER BEDROOM: with large antique Victorian double bed and fireplace, inbuilt wardrobes and oak wardrobe and two windows. STUDY / 2nd BEDROOM: south-facing with two windows, very light and sunny, with desk, small cupboard, small double Victorian bed and antique fireplace. 2nd floor BATHROOM: newly refurbished, with bathtub, WC, basin 3rd BEDROOM: large spacious room with small double bed (4ft), desk, shelves, wardrobe and Victorian fireplace. Towels and bed linen are provided. The house is ideally suited for an academic (and their family) who wish to undertake research in Oxford or who simply wish to spend their holidays in this beautiful historic town. Academics from overseas, Europe or other parts of the UK can get access to the world-famous Bodleian Library, one of the UK’s largest copyright libraries, by applying for a Reader’s Card (see https://www.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/join-the-libraries/apply). There are many interesting things to do in Oxford and nearby. Throughout the summer there are concerts and outdoor theatre performances in the beautiful gardens of Oxford’s colleges. Woodstock and Blenheim Palace are just 20 minutes away, the Cotswolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty, is about 40 minutes by car. Typically English, the Cotswolds countryside offers fabulous walks, picturesque villages and nice pub lunches. London with its countless attractions can be reached by train (60 minutes from Oxford’s main station or the nearby Oxford Parkway station). Shops, restaurants, a luxurious gym and spa with heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, steam room, sauna etc. are all within 10 minutes walking distance.
