Conductor looking for housing on opera gig!

Hello! I am a freelance orchestra and opera conductor based in Chicago, traveling often for work. I am looking for a place to stay in New York that is close to public transportation that can take me to the New School (West Village) daily. I need a quiet/private space to sleep and study, and a well equipped kitchen (happy to share with others) where I can cook and prep meals. I may have some late nights of rehearsals / shows and will need to be able to return and sometimes eat dinner pretty late. I have years of experience pet and housesitting and am very open to that type of arrangement if it suits, I am keen to keep the housing cost down and would love to barter. I will have to work in any house/pet obligations around my rehearsal schedule, so if you have a pet with time-sensitive needs, we can discuss and make sure it will work! I love animals and am happy to be in a home with them. I don't have a particularly green thumb but I have been able to keep several of my own plants alive for several years! My dates are not super flexible, as I have other contracts ending/starting right on the edges of this one. However, I would be open to housing for part of the requested time, if it feels like a good match.
