Looking for a small apartment in Rome from October 2025 to April/May 2026

Description

I am a professor of Roman archaeology at Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Canada (https://www.smu.ca/lc/myles-mccallum.html). I do fieldwork in Italy and so speak the language and have spent a lot of time there over the past 20 years. I have a 6 month fellowship at the British School at Rome (near the Galleria Nazionale d'arte Moderna a Roma and the Villa Giulia museum) from October 2025 to late April 2026, but am happy to rent anywhere in the city, particularly if it has good access to the Metro and public transit. I am happy to house sit and can take care of pets (I have dogs and have recently had a cat as well), am a gardener, and am willing to take care of mail and other correspondence for the owner, if asked to do so. I am looking for an apartment that can accommodate me, but which will have space for my family (spouse and two children) to visit occasionally, so likely a one bedroom with a living room of some sort. I will work/write in the apartment, so will need a decent internet connection. I will also cook and would like to do laundry, so a kitchen and washer (with drying rack) are necessary. I do not smoke and I will not be bringing pets with me. I will be travelling occasionally within Italy (principally to Rieti and to Puglia) to study archaeological materials. and to and from Canada during the rental period, so will not be in the apartment everyday.
