About Me: I’m visiting my daughter, who is enrolled in a four-year bachelor’s program in Studio Art and Art History in Florence. I usually visit her twice a year, and during these stays, we both appreciate quiet, comfortable spaces that feel like a real home. Our family has a background in both art and human sciences: my mother was a professional puppeteer for 32 years, I studied Bulgarian Philology and taught language for many years, and later earned an MA in Forensic Mental Health Counseling in New York. I am now taking steps toward becoming a licensed therapist. We love traveling and caring for people’s homes, pets, and plants. I take pride in treating others’ spaces with the same care I want for my own Manhattan apartment, which I sometimes sublet (karma works both ways!). What We’re Looking For: We’re seeking a quiet, well-kept apartment in Florence - ideally near Via San Gallo or within walking distance of the Lorenzo de’ Medici Institute facilities on Via dell’Alloro, Via de’ Giraldi, or Piazza Strozzi - for November 2025. I will stay the first week, and my daughter, an award-winning young artist from New York City recognized by institutions such as the Rockefeller Center/Climate Museum and the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, will remain for the rest of the month to focus and study during her finals. We will be happy to help with plant or pet care. I also plan to list my own Manhattan apartment on SabbaticalHomes, and look forward to being part of this community that values independence, trust, and connection among creative and academic travelers.

LdM - Piazza Strozzi 2
Marist College
Comments: Ideally near Via San Gallo (Palazzo Le Monnier), or within easy walking distance of the Lorenzo de’ Medici Institute facilities on Via dell’Alloro, Via de’ Giraldi, or Piazza Strozzi.
Comments: Rent $1,100–$1,350 reflects one-month stay with house and pet care; utilities separate. No cleaning service needed—just equipment and supplies. I maintain the space myself and always leave it as I found it.
Comments: My daughter has seasonal pollen allergies (springtime).
Experienced with both cats and dogs. Happy to care for either, though my daughter will be alone most of the stay and may not manage daily dog walks. Cat care is ideal.
Happy to collect mail and small deliveries, keep them safely inside, and notify the homeowner when items arrive.
My daughter loves plants and has experience caring for and propagating them. She’ll tend to them with care, provided the host leaves clear watering instructions.
Comments: Just clear communication and instructions regarding heating, connectivity, and plant care would be great.

I’m a New York–based mental health professional and lifelong animal lover, currently spending time in Florence while my daughter completes her university studies. I’m reliable, tidy, and respectful of others’ spaces, with experience caring for homes and pets for friends and family. I treat every home as if it were my own—maintaining cleanliness, security, and a peaceful atmosphere. Along with my professional background in psychology and Slavic linguistics, I have experience teaching the Bulgarian language to both children and adults. I also have a strong appreciation for the arts. Professional background available on LinkedIn. I’m a non-smoker, non-drinker, and lead a quiet lifestyle. While Florence is my main base in Italy at the moment, I also enjoy traveling—either alone or with family—to visit friends and relatives across Europe and the U.S.

Comments: Ideally November 1–30, 2025, but the rental can start later — no later than November 11, since I’d like to be in Florence for my daughter’s birthday that week.
