Description
I will be on sabbatical from July 2026 to August 2027, which is the first time I have had such an extended period away from regular teaching and admin responsibilities. During this time, I hope to travel, continue my research and writing, and experience new places and cultures. House sitting would be a wonderful way for me to do this while also helping homeowners who may need someone reliable to look after their home. I am a tidy and responsible person who would treat any home with great care and respect. I am also happy to help with household tasks such as collecting mail, watering plants, or looking after pets. I previously had a cat, so I am very comfortable caring for cats. I enjoy nature, walking, and exploring new environments, so opportunities in places close to nature are especially appealing to me. My schedule during my sabbatical will be relatively flexible, and I would be happy to discuss different time frames depending on your needs. About Me
I am an academic based in the UK and will be on sabbatical from July 2026 to August 2027, which gives me the opportunity to travel while continuing my research and writing. I love travelling and learning about different cultures. Over the years, I have been fortunate to visit many places around the world. In Asia, I have travelled to Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and China. In North America, I have visited the United States and Canada. I have also travelled widely in Europe, including France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Estonia, Poland, the Netherlands, Italy, Austria, Ireland, Norway, and Finland, as well as Morocco in Africa. These experiences have helped me appreciate different ways of living and the importance of being a respectful and thoughtful guest. I am a tidy and responsible person who enjoys nature, walking, and exploring new places. I previously had a cat, so I am comfortable caring for pets if needed. When staying in someone’s home, I treat it with the same care and respect as I would my own. As a new member of the Sabbatical Homes community, I look forward to connecting with other members and experiencing new places in a meaningful way.
