I am a lawyer at the University of Calgary, where I negotiate medical research contracts. We are a family of five (two adults and three kids) living in Canada. Our family is dual citizens (Canadian/Nederlands) and seeking to do a month long visit to Amsterdam so my children can practice their Dutch language skills in an immersive setting, while also visiting family. We are looking for a place to stay for one month, ideally in November / December 2026. My husband works remotely and will maintain his normal work schedule during the trip, so wifi is a must. The children (ages 6, 9, 11) will be bringing their school-work and we will maintain a school routine during our visit. The children are extremely well behaved and calm, and do not require any kind of “childproofing” in the home. Just enough spots to sleep! We know homes in Nederland can be smaller and are perfectly comfortable with a small flat, and are ok to supplement sleeping arrangements with air mattress on the floor if needed. Ideally there would be two bedrooms (one for adults, one for kids), but we are flexible. We are an easy going and low maintenance family, tidy and quiet. We are very familiar with Amsterdam and the surrounding areas, my husband and I both speak Dutch. We are all comfortable with and love animals, so pets are no problem for us. If you have any bikes to lend us we would happily accept them! If our host is interested in an exchange for a stay at our home in Calgary, Alberta, Canada we would be more than happy to discuss that as an option.

Comments: We have three children all school aged (6-11) who are very well behaved and calm. We do not require toys or any special child-friendly accommodations, just enough beds to sleep everyone (but are not above an air mattress on the floor!)
We have a dog at home and are very comfortable feeding / walking any pets as needed.
Happy to pick up your mail and leave it set aside for you.
Happy to water plants!

Comments: If the dates don’t match up exactly I’m happy to accept a place for one or two weeks as available, and will make other arrangements for the remainder of my trip.
